I'm Baaaaaaack!

Your favorite blogging witch is returning!  My extended absence occurred for a variety of reasons - you know, fighting Nazis, ensuring community safety, creating a ritual for 200 people, setting up a temple, running informational booths, so on and so forth - and all this around work and life.  But life is finally slowing down enough that I can start writing again!  Expect to see a regular blogging schedule after the first of October.

My first order of business is to catch up on everything I've fallen behind on.  Sabbat and esbat rituals from August and September, two altars and some infographs are missing from the collection.  All of that will be added over the course of October.  For those of you who feel like something's missing because I haven't posted CF's August Eve ritual or our equinox one, I promise that they're coming!  Pictures are loaded on my computer.  Rituals outlines are filed in my Google drive.  I just have to put it together.

Next on my list is finishing my Familiars series and getting back to blogging on Pagan Bloggers, if they'll still have me.  I didn't expect to take such an extended break from writing this year but had little other choice.  The blog was one of the few places that could give at the height of conflict.

Some of you may have noticed that I shut down my Patreon.  It didn't seem right that people had to pay a monthly fee when I wasn't blogging.  That being said, Patreon's concept wasn't working for me anyway.  Blogging takes up a lot of my time, so adding extra work onto it to encourage readers to sign up, like drawings and video classes, seemed counterproductive.  I'd much rather pour that effort into the blog itself.  On Patreon, I was leading a video class on Hermetic Spellcraft.  For those of you following it, never fear!  I'll be converting it to blog form and writing about that here instead!  I'd rather offering it up for those who need it rather than only those who can afford it.  That's not what I'm about.

Instead, I've switched to Ko-fi, a service that allows you to grab me a cup of coffee if you enjoy my work.  It's safe and reliable, and all of the funds are deposited directly to my Paypal.  It also doesn't force you to sign up for a monthly payment; it's a one time tip with no implications that you have to pay to receive my services in return.  I'm much more comfortable, and confident, with Ko-fi.

The reason I'm waiting until October to fully return to blogging is because my job is in overdrive right now.  I worked six events this past weekend - four of which were on the same day.  On Saturday, I left at 8 am and didn't get home until midnight.  Many of the events were outdoors in high heat, so I was wearing a polo and shorts.  The last event was a diamond-studded gala, so I had to change into a dress in a gas station bathroom and do my makeup.  Such is the life of a caricature artist.  And this weekend isn't much different.  It's not as cram-packed but it is taking me out of state for three days.  All of this is leading to my affording the renovations to our house.  The company we chose is so backed up because our area was hit so hard by storms this spring and summer that we'll ideally be getting the renovations done towards the end of October.  Thus why I'm working my tail-feathers off right now!

So, in short, I'll be playing catch-up starting October 1st when I return from my three-day work trip.  You'll get all the posts you've missed and more!  See you then, folks!

  1. Glad to have you back and to hear you're doing better! I'm excited to read your blog in the future, too. I can't wait to hear about your Circle's Samhain ritual (if you're blogging it of course), they've been my favorite thing so far. :)

    1. Thank you so much, Katri! I will be indeed. Phaedra's leading it this year, so it'll be interesting to see her take on Samhain as I'm sure it'll be different from my own. :)
