We started the celebration with some light chatter around Kolika's mulberry mousse and Charli's roasted seasonal veggies. We then headed out to her newly-painted porch to start the ritual.
Kolika began the ritual by sprinkling rose petals to form the circle. We then called the corners.
Kolika's ritual was heavily influenced by Sandra Kynes's A Year of Ritual, primarily reflected in the calling and releasing of the corners. In addition to that, she added a spell involving her treasured mirror.
Each member gazed upon the mirror and silently made a wish.
Kolika also added some music to raise energy. She brought her guitar and added singing. I brought some jars filled with kernel corn for the others, as well as my protection rattle from last year.
With that, we closed the circle. Because Tony and I were completely exhausted from the drive and Jessica and Charli had to leave for home, the festivities ended there. But Kolika, Charli and I got together the next day for some light lunch and shopping!
And that concludes the Circle of Northern Fountain's Midsummer / Summer Solstice / Litha ritual for 2014!
From my circle to yours, have a blessed Midsummer!
