Changes in 2014

Hello hello!  Long time no update, right?  Sorry I've been so absent lately.  There have been a lot of changes!

First and foremost, I've passed the reigns of Circle Coordinator for the Circle of Open Traditions to Stacey and Alex, and have, as of December 29th, resigned.  It's for personal reasons, as it often goes, but their circle will run more smoothly without my presence.

This means I've returned to being a solitary practitioner for the time being.  I will still be attending public Lushede Grove rituals but expect less elaborate ritual posts for sabbats since it'll be just little ol' me.

To be honest, I'm a little lost right now.  But without being lost, how can we find ourselves?  I'm taking this time for a little self-exploration.  I'm a twenty-something.  I don't have to be set in stone just yet, right?

Life was a bumpy roller coaster from mid 2013 to well into 2014.  We moved, I was ill, my pets were ill and things got eerily dramatic at the end of the year, but it feels like things are slowly evening out.  You'll notice that I've been blogging far more often over at The Progressive Planner lately.  January is usually the time I heavily focus on TPP since I'm sorting out my resolutions.  It also gives me a month of focusing on myself for a bit.

Now for some pet updates!

Our youngest pet, Apollo, is officially done with all of his vetting and is settling into life with my familiars.  I have yet to discover if he's also a familiar, but am erring on the side of doubt until confirmation.

Hermes didn't handle Apollo's 36-hour absence for his neuter and returned to hissing at him for a few days when we brought him back home.  I think they've officially made up now.  He's been back to his Asscat ways by climbing our bookshelves and knocking things down, which tells me that he's at least healthy.  I'll take it.

Our Tubby Tabby Zues's UTI has recurred, so he's back on medication and, unfortunately, blocked from the bedroom again.  He's stress grooming because of it, but I don't have many options.  We take him on the 25th for a check up to make sure the UTI is officially gone and things are back to normal.  I don't expect any unsettling news from it after two weeks of antibiotics, but I'd rather be safe than sorry.

Finally, Artemis is relieved that the temperatures have been at least around freezing.  We had a stint of negative-degree temps that made it difficult for him to take walks.  He handles stress pretty well though.  He's due for a teeth cleaning in February.

I've been playing around with my new camera, if you couldn't tell!  I'm pretty thrilled with it, even if the only use it's really getting lately are pictures of my pets.

Other than that, life is same old, same old.  I work from home as an illustrator and business is good.  My husband is doing well, enjoys the job he started in August and is, as always, the man I love.  Life chugs along.

Take care everyone!  I'll see you on the next update.
