Tip: Represent the Elements Simply
I've always felt the need to do more than simply light a candle when calling the Watchtowers. Today's Witchy Words tip stems from what I place at the corners of my circle as a firm representation of the elements.
I breathed into a container as a representation of the east. I then gathered ashes to place in a jar for the south. I filled another container with water for the west. Last but not least, to represent the north, I placed soil in the final container.
I did these as part of a full moon ritual some time ago. I then placed them outside under the light of the moon to charge and purify. They are now a permanent part of my process when casting a circle.
How do you represent the elements for your altar or circle?

Deletei have a feather for air, dirt from an oak tree, water from the ocean and incense for fire. i know that some people use incense for air, but that didn't feel right to me.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you're going with what works best for you! Those sound like perfect representations!
DeleteWhat did you use for the ashes? Where did they come from?
ReplyDeleteI created the ashes by burning paper and leaves that I had drawn fire symbols on.
DeleteIs it ok to use bottles that were once used for alcohol? It's 2 tiny patron bottles and a bottle of liqueur, but I cleaned them out.
ReplyDeleteI don't see why not!
